Sovereign Lord,
you are God above all nations, rulers and leaders,
and so we thank you
for the faithful service of Elizabeth, our Queen,
in this her platinum jubilee year.
Grant her grace
to fulfil her coronation vows to you as our earthly ruler.
Strengthen her faith;
deepen her life of prayer;
bless her example of godliness;
and magnify her experience of your love;
that she may continue to be
a beacon of stability and hope
for our country.
In the name of Jesus, we pray.

Lord God,
we are urged in your word
to pray for all in authority,
that we might live peaceful and quiet lives,
in all godliness and holiness.
Thank you for answering these prayers
for Elizabeth, our Queen,
and for her example of godly living
and sacrificial service over 70 years.
Please continue to shelter her with your everlasting love
in this jubilee year,
and inspire and bless her life,
that, at the last,
you may say of her,
‘Well done, good and faithful servant.’

and also pray for the coming of God’s kingdom,
thank you for the life of Elizabeth our Queen,
who offers us an example
of service and prayer.
Help us likewise to give sacrificially
and to pray without ceasing
that your will may be done on earth, as it is in heaven.
