Paul writes:
‘However we do so, preparing for the joy of Easter by waiting on God in Lent, and then, with the first disciples, waiting for the Spirit’s empowering at Pentecost, is important for we who follow Jesus. The transforming work of the Spirit takes place when we resist the too-early ‘sugar-rush’ of Easter, and allow the soul to be reshaped, cross-like, for Jesus.’
