VE Day Resources

VE Day service outline from Anna Chaplaincy

This new resource provides an outline service to commemorate the 80th anniversary of VE Day on 8 May. It has been created by the Anna Chaplaincy team to help carers and chaplains facilitate a service to mark the anniversary with a group of older people.

Whether in a care home setting, church or community group, this resource provides a framework for a simple service to help reflect and remember.

Messy Church VE Day Resource

Messy Church has also created a new resource for use in the run-up to the 80th anniversary of VE Day on 8 May, to help families think through the themes of peace and reconciliation.

The new session has been developed from work that Sarah Agnew – children and families advisor for the diocese of London – did in preparation for the extravaganza that was Messy Cathedral, at St Paul’s Cathedral in London on 15 February. Sarah has also written a blog post about the new resource.
