Support BRF in prayer

Unless the Lord builds the house, the builders labour in vain. Unless the Lord watches over the city, the guards stand watch in vain.
Psalm 127:1 (NIV)

The priority of prayer

From the very beginning of The Bible Reading Fellowship, prayer has been of central importance. On the twisting and sometimes difficult road of life's journey, the encouragement of God's word is the same:

Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.

Philippians 4:6 (NIV)

We are so grateful to those who have stood alongside us in prayer over the years. Our vision is to make a difference to individual lives and communities, yet we're very aware that this is God's work. If God does not bless our work, our labour is in vain.

The BRF Prayer

Almighty God,
You have taught us that your word is a lamp for our feet
and a light for our path. Help us, and all who prayerfully
read your word, to deepen our fellowship with each other
through your love. And in so doing may we come to know you
more fully, love you more truly, and follow more faithfully in
the steps of your son Jesus Christ, who lives and reigns with
you and the Holy Spirit, one God for evermore. Amen.

What a Friend we have in Jesus, all our sins and griefs to bear! What a privilege to carry everything to God in prayer!
Joseph Scriven (1819-86)
