The Shepherd's Song
Psalm 23 is a timeless classic and The Shepherd's Song is a delightful story opening this up for children. Read how the shepherd boy David learned of God's love and care for him. As he looks after the sheep David sees how God looks after him and is his good shepherd. Pleasing illustrations add to the delight of this book which would be a book to give - and to share.
The Shepherd's Song combines the well-known storytelling skills of Jan Godfrey and the illustrations of bestselling Honor Ayres. Told from the perspective of David the shepherd and with stunning, colourful illustrations, this book helps children understand the well-known Psalm better and poses the question: Would you like God to be your good Shepherd?
Jan Godfrey is an experienced writer for children under 7 years old, with many published books to her name. Goes alongside The Secret of Happiness. How nice that someone has the initiative to take some text from the bible and re work it for children. This book is a nicely re-written Psalm 23 made accessible for little ones. It really does make a change from nativities and Daniel in his den! The book is a hard back and is carefully and thoughtfully illustrated in warm colours. It would make a nice gift.
